Overview

Piggy is an infected boss creature encountered in Ratopia. It is a stationary enemy that cannot move, but it still poses a threat through two simple attacks and through the support it receives from the slime stalactites above it. Because it remains in place, Piggy is most dangerous when players stand too close or allow its healing mechanics to stay active.

Piggy’s first attack is a fist slam that creates knockback. This can be enough to throw the leader and any soldiers off the platform it occupies, so melee fighting near the edge is risky. After it has taken some damage, it can also release a toxic gas horizontally across the entire layer it is on. This cloud is the one attack that can still reach rats even if they are not standing on the same platform, so it is important to move out of its path as soon as it begins.

Two slime stalactites hang directly above Piggy. These stalactites serve as both a weakness and a source of regeneration. They can be damaged and collapsed onto Piggy, briefly stunning it, which creates a useful opening for attacks. If they are left intact, however, they periodically heal Piggy for 50 HP each, so destroying them quickly is one of the most important parts of the fight.

Piggy is generally considered the easiest boss in the game largely because it cannot move. A safe ranged approach is the most reliable way to defeat it, especially in solo play. A common progression is to build a Royal Forge and then craft a wooden bow before challenging Piggy. Once armed, the player can attack from a distance while making sure the stalactites are destroyed as soon as they respawn, preventing the boss from recovering health. Proper timing on repeated bow shots also helps increase damage output by reducing downtime between attacks.

  • Stay away from the edge of Piggy’s platform to avoid being knocked off by its fist slam.
  • Watch carefully for the toxic gas and reposition immediately, since it can hit across the whole layer.
  • Destroy the slime stalactites whenever they reappear to stop Piggy from healing.
  • Dropping a stalactite onto Piggy will stun it for a short time, creating a damage window.
  • Ranged attacks are the safest method, with a wooden bow being a practical early option.
  • Piggy is notable as the only infected rat seen besides the one from the intro.
