Master Slingshot

The Master Slingshot is a slingshot weapon that can be found in the chest on floor 70 of The Mines. After it is obtained once, it can also be purchased from the Adventurer's Guild. Despite its description, it is not limited to Stone as ammunition; many different items can be loaded into it and fired as projectiles.

Like the other slingshots, it functions as a ranged weapon, but it has one especially notable drawback: using it on a villager or child at any stage will reduce friendship by 30 points. Firing it at the farm cat or dog does not lower friendship, but it does trigger a hate dialogue bubble. Because of this, it is best treated as a combat tool rather than something to experiment with around town.

A few practical points are worth keeping in mind:

• The Master Slingshot is obtained from a guaranteed chest reward in The Mines, so players can plan to pick it up while progressing through the mine floors.
• Once unlocked, it can be repurchased from the Adventurer's Guild if it is lost or sold.
• Its ammunition flexibility makes it more versatile than its description suggests, since it can use many items besides Stone.
• It cannot be used for the clipping glitch that allows entry into normally unreachable space around map areas; that exploit does not work with slingshots.

Because of its unusual ammunition options and the friendship penalty for hitting townsfolk, the Master Slingshot is most useful when kept for combat and general utility rather than casual use near NPCs.
