Adventurer's Guild
Overview
The Adventurer's Guild is a location east of the Mines and serves as the base of operations for

Inside, Marlon stands at the counter and sells combat equipment, while Gil sits by the fire. The guild also functions as the center for monster progress tracking and item recovery. Players can buy weapons, boots, rings, slingshots, and some special items there, and Marlon will also purchase weapons, boots, rings, and Monster Loot.
- Marlon’s shop includes a wide range of gear that scales with progression through the Mines, from basic weapons and boots to high-end options such as the
Lava Katana and Galaxy weapons.
- Rings available for sale include elemental and utility-focused options such as the
Aquamarine Ring,
Jade Ring,
Emerald Ring, and
Ruby Ring.
- The shop also sells the
Slingshot,
Master Slingshot,
Explosive Ammo, and a few decorative or novelty weapons.
- Several items are unlocked only after reaching specific Mine floors or meeting other progression requirements, so the guild remains relevant throughout the early and midgame.
The wall to the right of Marlon’s desk displays the Monster Eradication Goals. This list tracks how many of each required monster the player has defeated. When a target is reached, Gil awards the corresponding prize. Previously earned rewards can later be bought from Marlon. If the player’s inventory is full when Gil tries to give a reward, the item can still be selected and dropped on the floor temporarily; otherwise, the player must buy it back from Marlon.
Completing the guild’s monster goals also grants permanent rewards tied to the player’s combat progress. These include several rings and hats, as well as Marlon’s phone number after killing 150 Magma Sprites, which unlocks remote use of the Item Recovery Service from a
The Adventurer’s Guild is also where the player can recover lost items after collapsing in dangerous areas such as the Mines, Quarry Mine, Skull Cavern, or Volcano Dungeon. Marlon offers the Item Recovery Service for one lost item or stack at a time. The fee matches the item’s sell price, and non-saleable items are recovered for free. The recovered item is mailed overnight, and choosing one item replaces the current loss list until the next collapse.
A few other details make the guild useful beyond shopping:
- Neither Marlon nor Gil accept gifts, gain friendship points, or have bedrooms the player can enter.
- The back room opens only after killing 1,000 monsters.
- Inside that room is a box containing the Mapping Cave Systems book.
- That book provides a 50% discount on item recovery fees after it has been obtained.
Because it combines combat shopping, monster reward tracking, and item recovery, the Adventurer’s Guild remains one of the most important utility locations for players who spend time in the Mines and other deep-dungeon areas.
