Lodestone Bolt

Lodestone Bolt is a type of ammunition used by bolt-firing weapons. It is most commonly obtained by salvaging a Lodestone at a Repair and Salvage Station, making it a renewable use for that resource once you have access to the station. It can also appear as a rare drop from Lab Rats, Gatekeepers, and Archivists, and it can be harvested very rarely from a dead Bogman.

In combat, Lodestone Bolt behaves like other bolts that can remain embedded in enemies and corpses, which makes retrieval an important part of its economy. Some bolts can be picked back up directly from a corpse after a fight, but if you harvest the remains, any bolts stuck in the body are destroyed. Using the Vacuum is an easy way to recover bolts from corpses, including ones that are awkwardly positioned or unreachable by hand.

Lodestone Bolt also has a notable interaction with the Reaper: firing it at the Reaper will dismiss him and cause him to drop a Night Essence. If the bolt sticks into him rather than being destroyed, it will reappear on the ground after his dismissal animation finishes, at the spot where he was standing when hit.
