Makeshift Crossbow

The Makeshift Crossbow is a craftable ranged weapon unlocked early in progression. It becomes available by reading the Email “OFFICE SUPPLY CROSSBOWS” and opening its attachment, or by discovering all of the required ingredients through normal play.

Once unlocked, it serves as a simple projectile weapon for dealing with enemies at range before more advanced firearms and energy weapons are available. Its key advantage is that it lets the player engage targets from safety, but it still relies on reloading between shots, so positioning and timing matter.

• It is used as a standard ranged weapon, with a shooting and reloading animation.
• Reloading has visible animation states across skill levels, including a distinct higher-level animation at Level 20.
