Seeker Quill

An Exor quill with a bit of homing science to spice things up.
Overview
The
Seeker Quills behave like physical bolts once fired but will adjust their trajectory to some degree toward targets; descriptions from multiple localizations describe the round as having “homing” or “self-locating” technology, and emphasize that the projectile shows interesting properties after launch. This homing behavior is the defining gameplay characteristic that distinguishes Seeker Quills from standard straight-shot bolts.
Seeker Quills are treated as recoverable ammunition when they remain lodged in an enemy corpse. Players can manually pick up quills from corpses to reclaim some ammo. Be aware that harvesting a corpse for loot via non-retrieval methods will destroy any quills stuck to it; use direct pickup or retrieval tools instead. The
Practical notes and interaction details:
- Seeker Quills are compatible with weapons that accept quill/bolt ammo; check a weapon’s ammo slots to confirm compatibility.
- The built-in homing makes Seeker Quills effective against agile or partially obscured targets where pure aim may fail.
- Recover quills from enemy corpses by picking them up or using the
Vacuum; do not harvest the corpse by other means if you intend to reclaim ammunition.
- Prior to patch 0.10.0.15324 (Hotfix), this ammunition was called “Quill Bolt” in earlier builds.
- Because Seeker Quills remain physical projectiles when lodged, environmental factors that affect corpses (movement, scavenging, or destruction) can prevent recovery; prioritize retrieval when feasible.
