Probe Scanner

Probe Scanner is associated with the Historical Probes, a set of legacy exploration objects added during Alpha and repurposed with the 1.0 release. The probes are spread across several planets and biomes, and each one is tied to a database entry and a cosmetic reward.

The known Historical Probes include several landmark spacecraft and observatories:

• Hubble Space Telescope, found in Orange Rock cliffs, with a database entry dated 25.04.1990 and an Orange Wanderer Palette reward.
• Kepler Space Telescope, found in Gray Mountains, with a database entry dated 07.03.2009 and a Blue Wanderer Palette reward.
• New Horizons Probe, found in Gray Mountains, with a database entry dated 19.01.2006 and a Yellow Wanderer Palette reward.
• Voyager 2 Probe, found in Forest Mountains, with a database entry dated 1977.08.20 and a Pink Wanderer Palette reward.
• Mariner X Probe, found in Rocky Peaks, with a database entry dated 03.11.1973 and a Red Wanderer Palette reward.
• Pioneer I Spacecraft, found in Dark Craters, with a database entry dated 11.10.1958 and a Light Blue Wanderer Palette reward.
• Sputnik Satellite, found in Yellow Cave Mountains, with a database entry dated 04.10.1957 and a Green Wanderer Palette reward.

These probe sites are part of Astroneer’s collectible exploration content. They were originally introduced early in development, and later updates changed their purpose so that they became a structured set of discoveries rather than unused scenery.
