The Large Battery is a power storage item that holds a very large amount of energy and automatically buffers a base’s power supply. It charges while the network produces more power than it consumes, then releases stored power whenever demand exceeds production. Its visible column-based charge indicator makes its remaining energy easy to read at a glance.

A fully charged Large Battery stores 8,192 Units of power. Because of its size and capacity, it is best used in established power networks where steady backup power matters more than portability. It is especially useful for smoothing out power spikes from machines, allowing generators, solar panels, wind turbines, and other sources to work without leaving the network idle or overloaded.

When comparing storage efficiency, a setup using Small Batteries can sometimes provide slightly more total capacity, at 9,216 Units, but this comes with a much larger and usually unnecessary throughput arrangement and a higher cost. In practice, the Large Battery remains the straightforward choice when compact high-capacity storage is the goal.

There is also a visual issue that can appear after traveling between planets: the yellow charge bars may shift away from the center of the battery model. These displaced bars do not affect collision or function, but they can distort the outline when the item is hovered over. The issue becomes more noticeable with extensive space travel and is normally corrected by resetting the game or packing the battery and unpacking it again.
