Small Battery

Small Battery is a portable power storage item used to buffer electricity on a connected network. It charges whenever power production exceeds demand and discharges whenever demand exceeds production, just like the Medium Battery and Large Battery. Although its charge and discharge rate matches the backpack battery, its larger capacity makes the meter appear to fill and empty more slowly.

A Small Battery stores more than three times the power of a backpack battery, with the Chinese source giving this as 3.2 times the backpack battery’s capacity. This makes it especially useful for extending the runtime of power-hungry equipment, including Terrain Tool augment and drill setups, where it can significantly improve operating time. It is also an efficient way to carry power in a small space; one source describes it as letting the player carry 1.5 times the battery charge in the same space while providing 4.8 times the power output.

Small Batteries are also useful for vehicles. A player can charge one in the backpack, then place it on a vehicle such as the Tractor to indirectly draw power from a tethered network. A fully charged Small Battery can keep a Tractor moving for over 7 minutes.
