Crane

Crane is a large utility item used for automated surface excavation. It is operated by sitting in its own seat at the base of the module, not the vehicle seat, and is controlled with the cursor. The head always points toward the terrain, making it easier to mine and dig while mounted on a vehicle.

Resources collected by Crane are transferred into any empty storage slot, so it works best when paired with a storage module. Like the Terrain Tool, any unfinished pile is stored in the drill heads in its virtual inventory.

• If Crane is mounted on the same Large Rover as a Soil Centrifuge, the soil it collects is sent directly into the centrifuge’s internal reservoir.
• Once the centrifuge’s internal reservoir is full, excess soil fills its containers afterward.
• Because Crane automatically feeds loose resources into storage, nearby empty slots can be filled quickly during excavation.
• Its own seat must be used to control it; the vehicle seat does not operate the module.
