Rover Seat

The Rover Seat is a vehicle attachment used to drive Rovers and other compatible transport parts. It is a placeable seat that lets a player take direct control of a vehicle, and it is also the standard way to enter and operate certain mobile platforms. Because vehicle direction is based on the seat’s facing, its orientation matters when mounting it.

Rover Seats can be placed on top of Rovers and in the attachment slots of Shuttles and Rail Cars. When a player targets the seat and uses it, they enter the seat and begin operating the vehicle. If multiple seats are installed on the same vehicle, the first player to enter gains control of that vehicle. Placing the seat with a different facing changes which direction the vehicle will consider forward, and rotating the seat 180 degrees reverses the vehicle’s forward and backward movement.

A useful detail is that entering a Rover Seat saves the game, even if the seat is not installed in a valid slot. This makes it useful as a quick manual save point while exploring or repositioning vehicles.

Practical notes:

• Place the seat carefully before driving, since its facing determines the vehicle’s forward direction.
• Use multiple seats on the same vehicle when transporting more than one player, but only the first player inside controls movement.
• On Shuttles and Rail Cars, the seat can be mounted in the dedicated attachment slots rather than only on rover tops.
• Entering the seat triggers a save, which can be relied on even outside normal mounting positions.
