Large Shuttle

The Large Shuttle is a late-game spacecraft used for interplanetary travel. Like other Shuttles, it can land at Landing Zones and Landing Pads, and it provides unlimited Oxygen to tethered players while in use. If an Oxygenator is attached, it also supplies oxygen to connected tethers, making the shuttle itself a temporary mobile base for travel and short-term setup on another planet.

The Large Shuttle has a roomy cargo layout with two Tier-3 slots and two Tier-2 slots. One of the Tier-2 slots is intended for an Oxygenator, while the other can be used for storage or other equipment. This flexibility makes it one of the best vehicles for hauling supplies, especially when combined with large storage modules.

A few practical uses make the Large Shuttle especially valuable:

• It can be fitted with a Medium Storage in the side slot instead of an Oxygenator if you want to carry more items.
• A packaged Oxygenator and a Medium Platform A or C can be brought along so the Oxygenator can be left on the destination planet.
• For gas collection, a canister can be attached to the shuttle or to a newly printed shuttle so gases can be gathered more easily from a planet’s atmosphere.
• For maximum storage, two Large Storage Silo Bs can be placed on the two Tier-3 slots, then 12 Medium Storage Silos can be mounted on each of those, with one more Medium Storage Silo in the side slot, for a total of 25 Medium Storage Silos and 600 Tier-1 storage slots.

There are also a few important limitations. A shuttle in orbit cannot land at a base that already has another shuttle on a Landing Pad unless another unused Landing Pad is available. In addition, the Large Shuttle cannot be shredded directly; it must be destroyed with Dynamite first to produce shreddable debris, which yields about 1 Scrap on average.

The Large Shuttle is unlocked in the catalog for 5000 bytes and is crafted in the Large Printer using 1 Titanium Alloy, 1 Ceramic, and 2 EXO Chips.
