Medium Storage

Medium Storage is a storage item used to hold multiple Tier-1 items in a compact footprint. It can store up to 8 Tier-1 items and is built around two modes that change how the slots are arranged: a collapsed form for denser packing and an expanded form for easier access and visibility.

In collapsed mode, Medium Storage sits in its default shape, resembling an upside-down T when viewed from the side. This makes it useful when space is limited or when a Rover needs to carry more equipment without spreading it across a wide surface. In expanded mode, the storage is flattened so all slots lie on a single plane, making it easier to see and manage the contents at a glance.

The mode can be toggled by hovering over the storage and using the mode-switch control. This lets players switch between a compact transport setup and a more open display layout without moving the items off the storage itself. Because both modes keep the same capacity, the choice is mainly about convenience and how the storage fits into a vehicle or base layout.

Medium Storage also has a practical vehicle use in collapsed mode: it can be used to mount a forward-facing Floodlight on a Rover even when the Rover’s front slots are already full. This makes it a handy utility item for vehicle builds where front-facing lighting is needed but attachment space is already occupied.

Prior to Patch 1.4.15, Medium Storage would flatten automatically on a couple of platforms and could not be toggled between collapsed and expanded modes.
