Trade Platform

The Trade Platform is a base module used to exchange Scrap, Astronium, and Fault Finders for other resources and items. It works by loading the chosen trade currency into its slots and launching a small rocket, which then returns after completing the trade cycle. The platform is available as part of the game’s trading system and is one of the main ways to convert excess salvage into materials that are harder to obtain directly.

The trade panel lets you scroll left or right to choose the output item, and up or down to switch between the available currencies. Different targets use different exchange ratios, so the amount of currency required depends on what is being requested. In general, trade outcomes range from favorable swaps for low-tier resources to much higher costs for rarer items.

• Scrap is the standard trade currency and is obtained from the Shredder.
• Astronium can also be used as currency.
• Fault Finders were added as a trade currency in the Awakening Update, and only the decrypted version used for trading is accepted.
• After version 1.0, the Trade Platform can be used without being placed on a platform and does not require power.
• Once a trade is confirmed, the rocket takes about 45–50 seconds to complete the full cycle before returning.

The launch animation suggests the rocket travels somewhere beyond the planet and then comes back to its dock shortly afterward. The exact source of the traded materials and the rocket’s destination are not part of the platform’s normal interface, so the system remains intentionally mysterious from the player’s point of view.
