Nanocarbon Alloy

Nanocarbon Alloy is a late-game refined resource used for some of the most advanced crafting in Astroneer. It is produced in the Chemistry Lab and sits at the top of the game's resource chain, making it one of the most time-consuming and resource-intensive materials to obtain.

Crafting Nanocarbon Alloy requires a wide collection of inputs, including several atmospheric gases and other refined materials. The full production chain typically sends players to multiple planets: Sylva for Hydrogen and Nitrogen, Glacio for Iron, Titanium, and Argon, and Atrox for Helium. Wolframite is also needed to make the Chemistry Lab itself, which usually means visiting Desolo or Calidor first. Although many of the required gases can also be obtained on Vesania, Helium still requires a trip to Atrox, and Iron still requires Glacio or Novus.

Nanocarbon Alloy can also be found rarely in wrecks on Atrox, and it can be traded for by offering 4 activated Fault Finders on the Trade Platform.

It is used in the crafting of several high-end items and modules, and EXO Dynamics Research Aids in the Outer Core layer of Atrox require Nanocarbon Alloy to open. Because of its broad requirements, players often set up automated production once the necessary planet access and gas extraction network are established.
