Vesania

Vesania is a planet in Astroneer known for its varied terrain, colorful surface features, and unusual biome diversity. It is the only planet with two different forest types, making its surface stand out from the rest of the solar system. Like the other planets, it contains a Gateway Network and a Gateway Engine at its core, and reaching that core requires activating at least one Gateway Chamber first.

Vesania has six Gateway Chambers, each of which requires 16U/s of power for 30 seconds to activate. A simple way to supply the needed power is to use two Medium Generators on a Medium T-Platform. After at least one chamber is activated, the Gateway Engine in the core becomes accessible. Placing a single resource in one of the engine’s slots reveals the Geometric Triptych. Placing the Geometric Triptych in the opposite slot activates the engine, reveals the Odd Stone, allows teleportation to the core, and reveals the inactive Gateway Portal node if it has not already been discovered.

The planet’s resource distribution includes several universal resources, one primary resource, one secondary resource, and multiple atmospheric gases. Its atmosphere can be harvested at 100 PPU, 75 PPU, and 50 PPU. In terms of power conditions, Vesania has low solar availability and high wind, which makes wind-based power especially useful for exploration and infrastructure on the surface.

Notable materials are found in specific regions rather than being evenly distributed across the planet:

• One notable resource appears in the Cave Layer.
• Another is found in the Purple Hills and Mantle Layer.

Vesania’s surface regions are varied enough that the planet has dedicated region information separate from its general overview. Its forests are especially distinctive, with two different forest biomes present on the planet. This makes surface exploration more visually diverse than on most other worlds, while also rewarding players who learn the terrain and region layout.

When traveling on Vesania, it is practical to plan around the planet’s strong wind conditions and to carry enough power generation for Gateway Chamber activation. Since the Gateway Network requires sustained output rather than a brief burst, portable generators alone are usually not the most convenient option. A compact power setup is often enough to unlock the first chamber and begin progress toward the core.
