Overview

Lithium is a raw resource used in crafting and is one of the more important late-game materials. It can be found in cave layers, as well as in mountainous biomes and mantle layers. Like other surface and underground resources, it is collected from deposits rather than manufactured directly.

Lithium is also obtainable from Soil Centrifuge output: it produces 1 Lithium for every 4 Soil, up to a total of 2 Lithium from 8 Soil. This makes it a convenient fallback when a player has plenty of Soil available and does not want to travel to a deposit immediately.

  • Before version 1.0, Lithium deposits were too hard to break with the Terrain Tool alone and required a Drill Head attached to a Crane.
  • Even then, some exposed edges of deposits could still be mined by hand.
  • Lithium is used in crafting, but the source tables available here do not list the specific recipes.

Its icon and deposit visuals are used consistently in the game’s resource UI, making it easy to identify once discovered underground.
