Popcoral Seed

Popcoral Seed is the seed dropped by a Popcoral when the plant is dug up. Popcoral are a defensive flora found abundantly in caves, and they are mostly harmless until the player digs at the base of the plant, which causes it to explode. A Popcoral Seed can be replanted to grow another Popcoral, making it possible to spread the plant in other locations.

Like other defensive flora seeds, a Popcoral Seed is obtained by uprooting the plant. Defensive flora have a chance to drop a seed when dug up, which allows them to be replanted and used again for their normal rewards, including Organic, Research Samples, or Research Items from their roots. In the case of Popcoral, the main practical use is to preserve or relocate the plant after collecting it.

Popcoral Seeds are most useful when you want to move a Popcoral away from a cramped cave passage or keep one available for later use. Replanting is especially helpful if you want to keep a nearby source of early-game research material while clearing an area for travel or building. Since Popcoral explode when disturbed at the base, it is safer to dig them up from a distance with the Terrain Tool instead of standing directly beside them.
