Mutant Noxious Cataplants are found on the surface and in caves on Vesania and Novus. When a player gets into range, the plant begins hurling its red orb at the player; after a short delay, the orb detonates in a gas cloud. The plant continues attacking until the player moves away or dies, though thrown orbs can sometimes snag on terrain and fail to reach their target.
