Overview

Quartz is a raw resource that can be found on all planets. Like other surface resources, it can be gathered directly from natural deposits, making it one of the more accessible materials in the game’s progression.

It can also be produced through resource conversion. The Soil Centrifuge generates 4 Quartz by consuming two full Small Canisters of Soil. The Trade Platform provides another reliable route, exchanging 1 Scrap for 2 Quartz, up to 8 Quartz total for 4 Scrap in a single trade. These methods make Quartz especially useful when a player needs a steady supply without depending only on exploration.

Quartz is used to craft a number of items and is also required to activate certain structures. Because of that, it tends to stay relevant throughout a save rather than being a resource that is only useful in the early game. Players often keep some on hand for construction and progression-related tasks instead of spending all of it immediately.

  • Available on every planet, so it is never locked behind a specific destination.
  • Soil Centrifuge output: 4 Quartz from two full Small Canisters of Soil.
  • Trade Platform output: 2 Quartz per Scrap, up to 8 Quartz for 4 Scrap.
  • Used in crafting and for activating specific structures, so stockpiling a modest amount is practical.
  • Since it is widely available, Quartz is often one of the easiest resources to replace after use.
