unit-emanate

Overview

Emanate is a unit in Mindustry notable for its extreme speed and its role as a rapid healer rather than a conventional combatant. It does not deal direct damage or possess conventional weapon stats; instead its primary effect is healing allied units at a very high rate. The unit is described as providing 2 × 108 health per second, making it an exceptionally powerful source of rapid regeneration when deployed with other forces. It is widely cited as the fastest unit in the game across all maps and planets.

Emanate functions primarily as a support unit: it moves faster than any other unit and restores health to nearby allies rather than attacking enemies. Because it lacks offensive capabilities (no shots/sec, damage, inaccuracy, or knockback listed), its use is tactical rather than offensive — it enables fragile but high-damage friendly units to sustain prolonged engagements or recover quickly after skirmishes. Its combination of unparalleled speed and high healing output makes it ideal for hit-and-run support, escorting fragile frontline units, or rapidly reinforcing points on the map.

Practical notes and usage considerations:

  • Pair Emanates with high-damage or glass-cannon units that benefit most from rapid healing; their survivability is greatly increased when an Emanate is nearby.
  • Use their superior speed to keep them in range of allies that need healing, or to reposition them quickly to respond to threats and sustain pushes.
  • Because they do not contribute to direct damage, protect Emanates from focus fire; losing one can remove a team's primary sustain source.
  • Emanates excel in mobile tactics and rapid-response roles (repairing after ambushes, supporting quick advances), but they are not substitutes for dedicated combat units or defensive structures.
