Workstation

The Workstation is a crafting object that can draw materials from nearby Containers when the Use nearby inventories checkmark is enabled. This makes it easier to craft without manually carrying every ingredient, especially when the required materials are stored in chests or other Containers placed close to the station.

When this option is turned on, the Workstation can use crafting materials from the inventories of nearby Containers within a maximum distance of ±9 tiles. Any Container placed within that range is considered valid for supplying ingredients. This lets a player organize a compact crafting area where storage and production are connected, reducing the need to constantly move items back and forth.

• The nearby inventory range is measured from the Workstation and extends up to 9 tiles in each direction.
• Only Containers within that distance can contribute materials.
• Keeping storage close to the Workstation is the simplest way to take advantage of this feature.
• If the option is not enabled, the Workstation will not draw from nearby Container inventories.

This behavior is useful for building a centralized workshop layout, with ingredient storage placed just outside the station or in a small cluster around it.
