Battery

A component for storing electricity. Allows for the supply of electricity without wires.
Overview
Battery is one of the most important items for managing Electricity. It stores electrical energy when connected directly to a power source, or through
Once charged, a Battery can supply power to electrical buildings even when they are not within the normal range of the generating structure. In practice, this lets you build more flexible power networks and place machines away from the generator while still keeping them supplied. The game shows this automatic transfer with a thin cable when energy is being routed.
A Battery does not need to be linked to every powered building by Transmission Wire. It only needs to be connected to the power side of the network; buildings that consume electricity can receive power from the Battery automatically as long as they are part of the electricity system. This makes it especially useful for extending power into areas where direct generator coverage would otherwise be inconvenient.
Useful points:
- Connect a Battery directly to a generator or through Transmission Wire / transmission blocks to store excess power.
- Use Batteries to buffer electricity for distant machines and buildings.
- A Battery helps stabilize power delivery when demand changes or when the main source is not always running.
- Since powered buildings do not need a direct wire connection to the Battery, it simplifies larger base layouts.
Because Batteries act as storage, they are a key part of any expanding electrical infrastructure. They are most valuable when you are building beyond the immediate reach of your power source or when you want to avoid running wires to every single consumer.
