A power source utilizing electric energy. As powerful as it is lethal, handle with care.

Overview

Electricity is the power resource used by electrified facilities in Ratopia. It is measured in Wh per day, and several late-game buildings draw a fixed amount of it once constructed. Unlike ordinary goods, electricity is not something citizens consume directly; instead, it supports the operation of infrastructure such as research, automation, surveillance, and cremation facilities.

Electricity consumption becomes relevant once the city starts relying on advanced buildings. The most efficient way to raise electrical demand is often to build cheap, low-labor structures that consume power continuously, especially when trying to meet the science victory requirement of 10,000 Wh per day. In that context, Small Light is noted as the easiest source of large power consumption because it has a low construction cost and can be built in large numbers.

The following facilities are listed with their daily electricity usage:

Because some of these buildings have high construction costs or limited build counts, players often combine several power-consuming facilities and then fill any remaining gap with Small Lights. The sources also note that the Ratron Recharger has no practical upper limit on how many can be built, unlike some other special buildings, making it a convenient option when scaling up total electricity demand.

Electricity is therefore less a standalone item to stockpile and more a city-wide requirement that determines how much advanced infrastructure can be maintained. Managing it efficiently matters most in late-game development and especially in routes that depend on sustained power consumption.
