The Engineering Workbench is a research facility used to unlock buildings that consume Electricity. It serves as the point where advanced electrical infrastructure is researched, making it an important early step toward expanding a settlement into powered production and utility chains.

Once constructed, the workbench functions like a standard research station for this branch of technology, and its progression is tied to the game’s prosperity system. When Prosperity reaches 5, the event “Seeking Lost Technology” appears, and paying 3000 Pia immediately completes the research. This lets players skip the normal research process and move directly into Electricity-based development.

• Use it when you are ready to begin expanding into powered buildings rather than relying on basic infrastructure.
• If you have enough Pia and have reached Prosperity 5, the instant-completion event is the fastest way to unlock the associated research.
