Overview

Copper wire is one of the most important items for operating electricity-based facilities. It is a key crafting material for a wide range of industrial and power-related progression, so keeping a steady supply is essential once a colony begins relying on electrical infrastructure.

Because Copper wire has so many uses, it is efficient to set up multiple Blacksmiths and mass-produce it rather than crafting it only when needed. In practice, a large stockpile is very useful; a rough benchmark is around 400 Copper wire, which is enough for most early and midgame needs.

Copper wire requires either Rubber or Beeswax as a material. The usual production routes are to collect Syrup from Jungle Log trees using a Sap Camp, or to process Petals at an Apiary. Rubber can also be imported from Ragbaden, which makes it possible to supplement production if local materials are tight. As a practical rule, importing about 100 Rubber can be worthwhile if you want to maintain a comfortable Copper wire reserve without overbuilding your own supply chain.

  • Copper wire is a core component for electricity-related facilities.
  • It is best produced in bulk with multiple Blacksmiths.
  • The main material choices are Rubber or Beeswax.
  • Local sourcing generally comes from Syrup via Sap Camp or Petals via Apiary.
  • Rubber may also be imported from Ragbaden.
  • A stockpile of around 400 Copper wire is a good target.
