Parts Factory

A structure for manufacturing various parts. Requires substantial resources and time. Assign a skilled Ratizen.
Overview
Parts Factory is a production building that manufactures advanced components for industrial progression. It turns basic refined materials into either Batteries or Motors, giving you a reliable way to keep your infrastructure and machinery supplied once you have the necessary inputs.
The factory can produce two outputs:
- 2 Batteries from 4
Copper wire and 2
Nickel, requiring 1200 work
- 2 Motors from 4
Iron Plate and 2
Cogwheel, requiring 1200 work
Because both recipes consume processed materials rather than raw resources, Parts Factory is most useful once your economy has already established a supply chain for metalworking and component production. Its output is especially important for higher-tier logistics and machinery, so keeping it running steadily helps avoid bottlenecks later in expansion.
When planning production, it is often best to dedicate nearby storage and upstream crafting lines to the factory’s inputs. Batteries and Motors both share the same work time, so the main constraint is not labor efficiency but material availability. If one of the ingredients is scarce, the factory will sit idle until the missing part arrives, so balancing Copper wire, Nickel, Iron Plate, and Cogwheel production is key.
