A versatile resource. In moments of crisis, anything can be used effectively.

Overview

Resource is the general trade category for goods that can be imported and exported between your colony and other cities. It covers raw materials, processed goods, food, and necessities, each with a listed trade price. The resource list is the basis for commerce in Ratopia: items with higher prices are generally more valuable to trade away, while cheaper goods are easier to import in bulk.

The available resources span nearly every major production chain in the game. Natural resources include basic materials such as Water, Dirt, Rock, Sandrock, Halite, Coal, Copper Ore, Iron Ore, Gold Ore, Crystal, Nickel, Obsidian, Sulfur, Niter, and Ash, along with collectible living resources like Rabbit, Bee, Silkworm, Frog, Armadillo, Scorpion, Hermit Crab, Bat, Snail, Spider, and Flamone. Plants and plant products such as Grass, Petals, Papyrus, Cactus Flower, Joy Flower, Luminator, logs, Coral, Syrup, Myrrh, Rubber, and many kinds of seeds are also included.

Processed goods cover many crafted materials and industrial products, including Lumber, Wooden Stick, Stone Brick, Leather, Flour, Fabric, Rope, Lime Powder, Sand, Bone, Bone Powder, Joy Powder, Salt, Charcoal, Spider Web, Bat Juice, Medicine, Paper, Silkworm Cocoon, Silk, Tool, Barrel, Cogwheel, Copper Ingot, Gold Ingot, Iron Ingot, Glass, Glass Bottle, Beer, Wine, Dye, Iron Plate, Copper wire, Motor, Battery, Labor Chipset, Specialty Chipset, Combat Chipset, Black Powder, Wooden Furniture, Coin, Gold Coin, Jewel, Coral Gem, and Glass Craft.

Food resources include Grain, Mushroom, Berry, Raw Meat, Milk, Anglerfish, Fish, Honey, Bread, Cheese, Grilled Meat, Grilled Mushroom, Grilled Fish, Steak, Pasta, Cake, and Ice Cream. Necessities include Oil, Bat Potion, Leather Sack, Candle, Regen Potion, Pottery, Clothes, Dumbbells, Book, Soap, Shoes, Silk Dress, Gold Accessory, Perfume, Cosmetics, and Gum.

In the trade interface, the number shown in parentheses for imports and exports indicates the prosperity level of the destination city required to unlock trading that resource. If the same city appears more than once, the lower prosperity requirement is the correct one. If an identical requirement is listed multiple times, it is simply a leftover duplicate entry.

Because Resource is a broad trade category rather than a single craftable item, its main use is planning economy routes. Expensive goods such as Motor, Battery, Gold Accessory, Joy Powder, and Coral Gem are strong export candidates, while cheap basics such as Dirt, Water, Grass, and Sand are better suited for filling supply gaps in your colony.
