Common pure water. Stable water supply is really important for farming.

Overview

Water is a basic liquid resource found throughout the world as water blocks. It appears naturally in places such as ponds and underground water, and can also collect on the surface or in gaps between large trees after rain. Players and ratizens can scoop up water blocks to create a carryable water drop, reducing the amount of water in the tile.

As a block, Water is affected by gravity and will flow sideways into adjacent spaces when no solid block is blocking it. Because of this, it can spread through open terrain and pools, making containment and collection important when setting up a reliable supply. Water can also be gathered automatically within range by building a Water Tank, which makes it easier for ratizens to collect nearby water without manual mining.

Water is used as an ingredient for several food-production buildings. It is required for wheat in the Grain farm, berry in the Berry orchard, herb in the Herb field, and petal in the Flower field. Some crops have multiple recipe variants, but water remains one of the core inputs for early agricultural production.

  • Grain farm uses water in several recipes for Wheat, including 8 waters for 30 wheat, 4 water with bone dust for 30 wheat, and 8 water with bone dust and lime dust for 60 wheat.
  • Berry orchard can produce Berry with 3 waters and 1 bone dust, or with slime instead of water and bone dust.
  • Herb field uses 6 water and 1 dirt to produce herbs.
  • Flower field uses 8 water and 2 dirt to produce petals.

For steady water acquisition, importing water is one option, but the game also provides natural and structure-based sources. A Water Tank helps automate collection from nearby deposits, while the Dew Collector can produce water every morning. Water can also be obtained from Spout Anemone if one is found near the city. These sources are especially useful when local water deposits are limited or inconvenient to access.
