Butchery presents you... Fresh meat! Any edible animal can be slaughtered for this.

Overview

Raw Meat is a basic food ingredient obtained by processing wild animals at the Butchery. It is produced from Rabbit, Frog, and Armadillo, making it one of the earliest animal products a settlement can turn into usable food. Because it comes from common livestock and wild catches, it tends to become available as soon as hunting and slaughter infrastructure is established.

Although it is a simple ingredient, Raw Meat has strong economic value for how little it costs to acquire compared with the nutrition it can become. Among foods that even lower-income citizens can eat, it offers some of the best nutrition-to-price efficiency, which makes it a practical export commodity as well as a domestic staple. In the early and midgame, it is often worth deciding whether to process it immediately for food production or reserve some of it for higher-value recipes.

Raw Meat is used at two production stations:

Its recipe spread shows that Raw Meat supports both food and animal-product chains. The Grill turns it into finished meals, while the Batiary converts it into bat-related products, so stockpiles of Raw Meat can feed multiple industries depending on what your colony needs most. If Sal is abundant, grilled or steak recipes are efficient ways to stretch a supply. If you are short on food variety or preparing for trade, Raw Meat itself is often valuable enough to move through the economy without extensive processing.
