Compact Water Wheel

Overview
The Compact
Water Wheel is a basic power-generating building available from the start of a Timberborn colony. It converts flowing water into mechanical energy to supply your early electrical grid and is intended as a low-tier, easily accessible source of power while you develop more advanced infrastructure.
Compact
Water Wheels are best used in early-game setups where water flow is available but resources or space for larger installations are limited. They produce significantly less power than later options—particularly the Large
Water Wheel and the
Steam Engine—so they are normally a stopgap rather than a long-term solution. Because they are available immediately, they are helpful for powering essential buildings and research early on, or for creating compact installations where multiple small wheels can be placed in tighter areas.
- Place Compact
Water Wheels in locations with continuous water flow; their output depends on a steady current. - Treat them as temporary or supplemental power: upgrade to Large
Water Wheels or Steam Engines when unlocked to consolidate power production and reduce maintenance. - Use multiple Compact
Water Wheels in parallel only when necessary; this is less space- and resource-efficient than building higher-tier power plants later.
