Large Power Wheel

The Large Power Wheel is a heavy-duty power-producing building that converts beaver labor into rotational horsepower. It appears as an advanced, large-scale version of the basic Power Wheel and is intended for mid-to-late game power needs where a steady, high output is required. The wheel must be staffed by beavers to generate power and integrates into the settlement’s power network like other power buildings.

Unlike most workplaces, the Large Power Wheel’s output scales directly with the beavers’ Movement Speed stat rather than being a fixed value. Its base generation when fully staffed is 300 Horsepower. Movement Speed bonuses increase that output proportionally: at the currently attainable maximum Movement Speed bonus of +70%, a fully staffed Large Power Wheel will produce 510 Horsepower (300 × 1.7). Conversely, Movement Speed penalties—such as from Thirst if workers lack access to water—reduce output in the same way; for example, a -25% Movement Speed modifier would lower production to 225 Horsepower (300 × 0.75).

Practical notes for use:

• Prioritize improving beaver Movement Speed through wellbeing, clothing, or other bonuses to get the best return from each Large Power Wheel.
• Ensure reliable access to water and other needs to avoid Movement Speed penalties (e.g., Thirst) that directly cut power output.
• Because its output is variable, plan power grids with the potential for fluctuation in mind—either by maintaining buffer capacity or by supplementing with other, less variable power sources.
