Overview

Pine is a tree that grows in Timberborn and can be harvested like other trees, but its main importance is that it produces pine resin. It was added in the Open Alpha and, in Update 1, pines began producing resin; Update 7 slightly increased harvesting time.

A pine occupies 1×1×3 and has a 12.2-day growth time. It takes 0.74 hours to plant, 1.2 hours to cut down, and 1.2 hours to harvest. Its harvest cycle is 7 days. Pines require dry ground, with both minimum and maximum water level listed as 0, so they are not suitable for flooded terrain.

Practical notes:

  • Pines are a renewable tree crop, so they are best planted where stable dry land is available.
  • Because their primary value is resin rather than only wood, they are worth keeping in dedicated plantations instead of treating them as ordinary filler trees.
  • Their long growth time means that large pine groves are more efficient than scattered plantings.
  • If you are planning around production, remember that harvesting is slower than planting, so tree density and worker pathing matter.

The game files also list pine as a plant with a broad display width and height range, reflecting the tree’s varying appearance in-world.
