They are part of the game’s progression tied to underground exploration and farm trading, since they can be found before farming access is expanded through the correct progression point, then bought afterward.

Chili Pepper Seeds can be obtained from underground chests in both Snow Caves and Swamp Caves. They can also be purchased from the Farmer, but only after Queen Spider has been defeated. This makes them a midgame farming resource rather than an early guaranteed crop seed.

Because they come from cave loot as well as a merchant, Chili Pepper Seeds are easy to miss if you do not explore underground containers. Once the Farmer’s stock opens up, they become a reliable way to start or expand Chili Pepper production without relying on chest drops.
