Onion Seeds

Onion Seeds are a seed item used to obtain onions as a crop. They are part of the underground foraging and farming progression, and become a reliable source of planting material once you start exploring deeper cave biomes.

They can be found in underground chests in both the Deep Forest and Deep Swamp Caves. They can also be purchased from the Farmer, but only after the Reaper has been defeated. This makes them available early through exploration, while the merchant source becomes available later as a more consistent way to stock up.

Because they come from underground chests, Onion Seeds are worth grabbing whenever you are clearing cave areas, especially if you are looking to expand your farm before or after reaching the later-game merchant unlock.
