Overview

Training Camp is a military building used to train basic combat units. It unlocks two recruitable unit types: Militia and Guard. In practice, its value depends heavily on which unit you choose to train, because the two available branches differ greatly in performance.

Militia was heavily nerfed in the General update, cutting its attack speed in half. As a result, it is now considered very weak, and Guard is generally the better choice. Guard gains +20 maximum HP, which is a very large bonus in the early game. That extra durability lets it survive five more Infected attacks or four more Flyer attacks than before.

Guard also attacks very quickly, with an attack interval of one attack every 0.8 seconds, making it one of the fastest units in the game. Its long range and short attack interval allow it to defeat enemies without taking damage if you give it careful direct orders. To issue those orders effectively, you need to build a Squad Headquarter, but the investment is usually worth the cost.

  • Militia is currently underpowered and is not recommended.
  • Guard is the preferred unit for most situations.
  • Guard’s extra HP and fast attack rate make it strong for early defense.
  • Direct control greatly improves Guard’s survivability and damage efficiency.
  • A Squad Headquarter is required to give the kind of detailed commands that let Guard perform at its best.
