Shrine of Ox

Shrine of Ox is a building with a powerful active buff centered on production work. Its active skill does not increase work speed in the usual sense; instead, it forces work progress to increase by 10% every second. As a result, if a Ratizen is already working at a production facility, the task will always finish in 10 seconds, regardless of the worker’s personal efficiency.

Because of that behavior, Shrine of Ox is most effective when placed near facilities that handle large amounts of work per task, especially buildings that benefit from mass production. The most notable use case is a Grain Farm using Bone Powder and Lime Powder. In mass production, it can complete a 12,000 labor task in 10 seconds of real time, which is an enormous boost. Since that amount of work would normally take about six days in the early game, five days in the mid game, or even four days in the late game, the shrine can dramatically reduce bottlenecks in food production.

Even a single Grain Farm can instantly produce enough food for 83 Ratizens, and if multiple production buildings are caught in the effect, food shortages can be avoided for a long time. The effective range is roughly a radius of 8 tiles, and in the example shown in the source, the Ratizen at the far right Grain Farm is outside the area.

To make the buff easier to apply, it helps to keep nearby workers organized and registered in the Ratizen Register, then use the labor-related setting in Code Stone to align their working times. This makes it easier to gather workers within the shrine’s area when the active skill is used.

A key limitation is that the active skill only applies to production work. It does not affect facilities that do not produce items, such as Laboratory, Tax Office, or Training Camp, and no note effect is shown on those buildings. The passive effect, however, affects the work efficiency of all Ratizens.
