Basic Pickaxe

The Basic Pickaxe is one of the starter mining tools available in Dinkum, intended for early exploration and resource gathering on your island. It is the first pickaxe-tier tool used to break the softest rock formations and ore deposits, making it a key part of the opening progression before players can access stronger mining equipment.

The Basic Pickaxe can smash the following:

• Small Rocks
• Tin Ore deposits
• Copper Ore deposits
• Quartz deposits

It cannot break deposits containing iron ore, and it is not strong enough for big rocks. For those materials, more advanced pickaxes are required. As a result, the Basic Pickaxe remains useful mainly during the early game, when collecting basic stone and the first tiers of ore.

Like other repairable tools, its durability can be restored at the Repair Table. This makes it worth keeping in good condition while you are still relying on it for early mining runs, especially when clearing small rocks or gathering tin, copper, and quartz for crafting and progression.
