Hoe

The Hoe is a farming tool used to till dirt so it can be prepared for planting crop seeds. When used, it tills a 1×1 area directly in front of the player, making it the standard first step before placing most crops. Because it only affects a single tile at a time, it is best suited for laying out small garden plots with precision or for preparing rows of farmland one tile at a time.

The Hoe can be purchased from Plant Shop Deed. Like other repairable tools, its durability can be restored at the Repair Table, allowing it to remain in service for a long time instead of being replaced outright.

In practice, the Hoe is most useful when planning a farm layout before seeding. A simple workflow is to till the soil first, then plant the crop seeds on the prepared tiles. Since the tool affects only the tile in front of the player, positioning matters when working around fences, paths, and other placed objects.
