Unconstructive

Unconstructive is a Duplicant trait that prevents the Duplicant from performing construction. A Duplicant with this trait is incapable of building even the most basic structures and cannot assemble equipment or place standard buildings that would normally be constructed by hand. The trait describes a complete inability to carry out construction tasks rather than a slowed or error-prone performance.

Because the limitation specifically affects building, Unconstructive Duplicants still contribute in other ways and can perform non-construction duties that do not require assembling structures. They remain productive members of the colony for tasks that are not related to construction work.

• Avoid assigning construction-oriented tasks to an Unconstructive Duplicant; any job that requires placing or building structures should be given to other Duplicants.
• Use Unconstructive Duplicants for tasks that do not require building, such as hauling, research, cooking, farming, tending, cleaning, or other maintenance and operational roles.
• When planning crew roles, account for the permanent gap in construction capability if several Duplicants share this trait; ensure you have enough Duplicants without the trait to cover building needs.
• Unconstructive is a trait to consider during roster selection and task assignment. It may influence base layout and construction scheduling because the Duplicant cannot be relied upon to perform any building work.

The trait is descriptive and definitive: an Unconstructive Duplicant does not perform construction tasks. Plan colony duties around that limitation to maintain efficient building progress and to make the best use of the Duplicant’s other skills.
