Overview

A Land Mine is a trap that deals damage when an enemy walks over it. When triggered, it deals 20 damage to the tile where it is placed and to a character standing on the adjacent tile. Because of this area effect, it can hit more than one target at once, but it also makes placement risky.

It is one of the traps that uses Black Powder, alongside Explosive Barricade. Unlike Explosive Barricade, however, it cannot stop enemies or hold them in place. If luck goes badly, it may simply deal 20 damage to a single enemy and disappear; if things go even worse, it can also catch allied units in the blast. For that reason, it is generally a difficult trap to use effectively both in terms of performance and crafting cost.

  • Best used where enemies are forced to move predictably, since it triggers only when stepped on.
  • Avoid placing it where friendly units are likely to pass, because the explosion can damage allies.
  • Its main advantage is raw burst damage, not crowd control or enemy delay.
  • Compared with Explosive Barricade, it is much less forgiving and more situational.
