Basic Item Printer

Overview

The printer’s production capabilities include conversion chains for building materials and direct manufacture of ammunition and a single power storage item. It supports the following recipes and yields:
Basic Building Material: input 1
Titanium Ore, 1
Wolfram Ore → output 10
Basic Building Material.
Intermediate Building Material: input 20
Basic Building Material, 1
Inductor, 1
Glass, 1
Titanium Housing → output 10
Intermediate Building Material.
Quartz Building Material: input 1
Quartz Ore, 50
Intermediate Building Material → output 20
Quartz Building Material.
- Pistol Ammo: input 7
Basic Building Material → output 10 Pistol Ammo.
- Standard Ammo: input 9
Basic Building Material, 2
Wolfram Powder → output 8 Standard Ammo.
- Heavy Ammo: input 12
Basic Building Material, 3
Titanium Rod → output 6 Heavy Ammo.
- Shotgun Ammo: input 10
Basic Building Material, 3
Calcium Powder → output 6 Shotgun Ammo.
- Power Cell: input 10
Electronics, 10
Chemicals → output 1 Power Cell.
Practical notes and usage considerations:
- The
Basic Item Printer must be installed inside a Habitat; it cannot be placed outdoors or in non-habitat modules.
- Use the printer primarily to turn mined ores and intermediate parts into construction materials that feed other production lines and to produce ammunition for colony defense.
- The printer supports both forward production (building higher-tier materials from
Basic Building Material) and direct conversion to combat consumables; plan resource flows so
Basic Building Material is available in the quantities required by both material upgrades and ammo production.
- Power Cell production requires
Electronics and
Chemicals rather than raw ores; allocate supply lines for those components if the colony needs Power Cells from this building.
- When scaling production, balance input acquisition (Titanium Ore,
Wolfram Ore,
Quartz Ore, and component parts like Inductors and
Glass) against the printer’s throughput to avoid bottlenecks.
