Furnace is a basic production building that utilizes heat to make Products. It is a Level 4 reward from the 
The Furnace processes raw inputs into intermediate and refined components on short cycle times, making it a core station for mid-tier manufacturing. It accepts a variety of inputs (bars, sheets, powders, fluids and small assemblies) and produces items used by higher-tier assemblers and fabricators. Cycle durations are typically between 2 and 5 seconds, yielding throughput measured in items per minute as indicated below.

Practical notes:
- Plan factory layout to accommodate the 3x4 base size or the 4x4 alternate size when placing multiple Furnaces in a production cell.
- Leave a one-block gap between basic Furnaces if you intend to upgrade to
Furnace v.2 later; this prevents spatial conflicts caused by the wider foundation of the upgraded unit.
- Match input feed rates and conveyor capacities to the Furnace cycle times to avoid bottlenecks; several recipes produce multiple outputs per cycle, increasing outbound throughput.
- Use Furnaces to produce intermediate materials (powders, ceramics, synthetics, glass) needed by advanced assemblers and fabricators.
