The Fish Taco appears as a placeable building that requires power and appropriate raw ingredients to operate and integrates with the colony’s food supply and automated delivery systems like conveyor rails and critter feeders.

Construction and operation follow standard building rules: it is built from specified materials, requires electrical power to run its process, and can be deconstructed to refund its material cost. The building accepts one or more fish-type critter inputs (depending on the game version and local critter types present) and a tortilla/ingredient component; after the required cooking time it outputs a single Fish Taco food item that can be consumed by Duplicants to restore hunger and provide morale effects typical of cooked meals. The Fish Taco building cooperates with the colony’s food routing — it can receive inputs from storage and send finished food to food storage, dining tables, or directly to Duplicants if placed in accessible locations.

Practical notes and strategies:

• Fish Taco is an efficient way to convert aquatic and flopping fish into high-quality prepared meals, making it particularly useful on maps with abundant Pacu or other edible critters.
• Fish Traps and similar critter-capture methods pair well with Fish Taco production; captured Pacu can be fed into the Fish Taco building either while swimming or in a flopping state on land.
• Deconstructing the Fish Taco building refunds its material cost, allowing players to relocate or replace units without permanent resource loss.
• Place Fish Tacos near fishing areas or critter pens to minimize conveyor or travel time for ingredients; using automated delivery (conveyor loaders/unloaders) reduces Duplicant routing overhead.
• As with other cooking buildings, location in a living area or near a mess table helps Duplicants access meals quickly and maintain morale and efficiency.
• Legacy behavior note: an older single-use variant of fish-capture/cooking systems existed in pre-Song of the Moo versions; modern Fish Taco-related capture and cooking is reusable and integrated with the current building refund/deconstruction mechanics.

Do not place Fish Taco in extreme temperature environments without insulation or temperature control if its listed building materials are sensitive to heat; modern designs refund materials on deconstruction, but placement still affects long-term reliability and the safety of food storage.
