Gristle Berry

gristle-berry

Overview

Gristle Berry is a cooked food item produced by processing Bristle Berry in a Gas Range. Each unit of Gristle Berry is created from one unit of Bristle Berry and yields 400 kcal more than its raw counterpart, improving the food's caloric value and overall quality.

Gristle Berry appears as the cooked form of Bristle Berry and is used like other basic food items to feed duplicants. It is produced exclusively in the Gas Range (Electric Grill / 电动烤炉) using a 1:1 recipe: one Bristle Berry → one Gristle Berry. The cooking process increases the energy provided per unit by 400 kcal, making Gristle Berry a straightforward upgrade for berry-based food chains.

Because of the caloric boost, converting Bristle Berry into Gristle Berry reduces the number of blossoms or raw berries required per duplicant feed cycle. Specifically, the increased calories lower the required Bristle Blossom inputs from 3.75 (domestic) / 15 (wild) down to 3 (domestic) / 12 (wild) per duplicant when planning long-term food supply and farming yields. This makes Gristle Berry an efficient way to stretch limited berry crops or wild-harvested resources.

Practical notes:

  • Produce Gristle Berry at a Gas Range; each cooked unit consumes one raw Bristle Berry and takes the standard cooking time for that recipe.
  • Use Gristle Berry when you need higher-calorie food without switching to more complex crops, or when meal quality matters for morale or disease prevention.
  • Plan farm output and cooking throughput so the Gas Range keeps up with dupe consumption; the caloric increase helps reduce planting pressure but does not eliminate the need for sufficient crop tiling or wild harvesting.
  • Gristle Berry shares storage and spoilage behaviors with other cooked foods; manage storage temperature and refrigeration if long-term preservation is needed.
