Saltz

Saltz is a snack item consisting of a single-serving bag of salty chips. It appears as a common consumable in the game world and is treated as a lightweight, low-value food item used to restore a small amount of hunger or to serve as an improvised trade good. The in-game description defines it simply as a snack-sized bag of salty chips.

Saltz can be acquired through direct purchase and by looting. It is sold by Snacks Vending Machines for one dollar per pack. Packs of Saltz are also found as ambient loot inside various containers and commercial locations across multiple sectors. Known spawn locations include lockers and filing cabinets as general container spawns, and more specifically:

• Office Sector: Cafeteria (Security Office kitchenette, Level 1); Bio Lab D (between Reception and Pool, Level 2); Kitchen (between Gym locker room and Data Farm, Level 2); Break room and the small kitchen under the Analysis Office (Level 3).
• Flathill: Bounty Basket store; Sweet Freeze ice cream store; Arcade; outdoor tables between the Library and the Flathill Syrup Company building; Flathill Syrup Company kitchen.
• Manufacturing West: Kitchen cabinets in the kitchen near the Garage.
• Cascade Laboratories: Kitchen cabinets in the lobby kitchen, Adjustment Wing labs, Containment Blocks kitchen, and Control Center bathrooms and kitchen.
• Hydroplant: Kitchen cabinets in the sub-area kitchen below the Electrical Station.
• Reactors: a room containing kitchen cabinets, laboratory cabinets and laboratory desks.
• Various general-purpose cabinets and kitchen areas throughout other maps.

Practical notes and strategy:

• Purchase from a Snacks Vending Machine when you need a guaranteed supply; the cost is fixed at one dollar per pack.
• When scavenging, prioritize kitchen and break-room areas, vending-machine locations, and standard storage containers such as lockers and filing cabinets to reliably find Saltz.
• Because Saltz is a common, low-value item, it is useful for small, immediate hunger recovery or for bartering in bulk rather than reserved for critical situations.
• Check multi-floor office and laboratory areas (levels 1–3) and industrial kitchens, since these areas have concentrated spawn points in kitchen cabinets and break rooms.
