Lift Station

Allows Ratizens to take a lift in between, when connected by lift ropes to the other stations
Overview
Lift Station is a vertical transportation building used together with
Its main value is throughput. A single lane can support both upward and downward travel at the same time, making it very efficient for tall bases, mines, and industrial stacks where many Ratizens need to pass through the same vertical corridor. This makes it one of the most useful infrastructure pieces for organizing compact multi-story layouts.
The station is not a general-purpose movement booster everywhere on the map; acceleration only begins when a Ratizen enters or leaves from the station platform itself. In practice, that means the entry points should be positioned where traffic naturally converges, such as at floor intersections, production hubs, or the ends of long shafts. If the platform is placed awkwardly, the system loses much of its speed advantage.
Useful points to keep in mind:
- Build several Lift Stations vertically in a straight line and connect them with Lift Rope to form a shaft.
- It supports simultaneous up and down traffic in one lane, which helps prevent congestion.
- It is most effective in tall bases where repeated floor-to-floor travel would otherwise waste time.
- Since acceleration starts only at the platform, the station should be placed where Ratizens can easily reach it.
For base planning, Lift Station is especially strong when paired with dense floor stacking. It lets you compress workshops, storage, and living spaces into separate levels without making travel painfully slow. When used well, it becomes a core part of a vertical logistics network rather than just a convenience structure.
