A place to hunt down wild animals. Beware of becoming the prey
Overview
Hunter's Hut is a hunting facility used to automate the capture of rabbits in the underground and surface areas where rabbit dens are present. When citizens are assigned to it, they will go out to hunt instead of performing general transport work, turning nearby wildlife into a steady source of raw meat and, later, leather if the appropriate processing chain is available.
To get the most out of Hunter's Hut, place it close to rabbit dens so hunters spend less time traveling and more time working. Like other production buildings, it is more efficient when the worksite is nearby and supported by storage, so hauls do not become a bottleneck. Since hunting consumes stamina, hunters should have access to beds so they can recover and continue working efficiently.
A Hunter's Hut is most useful in the early and mid game when natural food sources are still available but your population is growing faster than foraging can support. It fits naturally into the food chain that leads from hunting to butchery and then into more advanced cooking or leather production.
Assign citizens to the hut to make them hunt automatically.
Place it near rabbit dens to reduce travel time.
Keep beds available for assigned hunters, since hunting drains stamina.
Use the meat for food production and the leather for later crafting chains.
If you have multiple rabbit dens, a hunting setup can scale well as a supplement to farms and processed food.
Hunter's Hut works best as part of a wider labor network. As with other facilities, citizens operate more efficiently when logistics are short, so pairing it with storage and transport support helps keep the output flowing. If hunting is becoming a frequent source of food, it is worth expanding your processing infrastructure so the meat does not sit idle and the byproducts can be turned into higher-value goods.
