Grass

Special
Official description

A well growing grass. Still when cut too fast, it might die.

Overview

Grass is a very inexpensive early-game material, but it is needed in large quantities from the start, so it is often one of the first resources players run short on. Because it is consumed broadly in early progression, having a steady supply matters more than its individual value.

Grass can be obtained either by gathering it directly or by producing it in a Grass Field, but neither method is especially efficient. For that reason, it is one of the resources that is best imported whenever the option is available, rather than relying entirely on local production. If a settlement is expanding quickly, Grass shortages can appear early and remain a bottleneck until a better supply chain is established.

  • Cheap to obtain in principle, but often scarce in practice because early demand is high.
  • Direct gathering is not a strong long-term source.
  • Grass Field production exists, but it is not a highly efficient way to meet demand.
  • Importing Grass is the preferred solution when available.
