A single A_Ratizen needs 1.44 Grain worth of nutrition per day, and one Wild Wheat plant can feed about 2.7 A_Ratizen. This makes it a useful stopgap source for keeping the settlement supplied while expanding infrastructure. For larger-scale production, however,

Wild Wheat can also appear after rain on natural dirt tiles, and it may grow in dense patches in some areas, including places behind the Great Tree. Checking these spots after rainfall can provide a useful boost to food gathering without any construction cost.
